Total 8 rounds

In a certain game of archery the points in each round for the first,se [#permalink]

I think this can be solved by prime factorization (because all numbers are primes):

21000/7 = 3000
3000/5 = 600
600/5 = 120
120/2 = 60
60/3 = 20
20/5 = 4
4/2 = 2
2

So we have 7*5*5*2*3*5*2*2 = 21000
So my answer would be 8.

Here's your mistake
Who told you that Ross Got Points in every round he completed.
What if he got no points in 7 rounds ?

The correct answer is E

you sure?
what if ross did not end by getting points in 10 rounds (say)
then the number of rounds he participated will be 18
so we can have numerous such examples
hence E

If he does not get points in one round he gets zero points for that round, right?
Then the product of his points would always be zero if he gets no points for one round.

Getting a zero is very different from getting no score..

Getting a zero is very different from getting no score..

Correct answer is E and not A because we are given that there won't be any points awarded for rounds other than 1st four.

Thus, it may happen that he played 100 rounds out of only 8 rounds were there in which he was awarded some points.

If he played more than 8 rounds, and didn't come in the top 4 in any of the extra rounds, the product of his scores should be 0 since he scored 0 points in some rounds.
Here, they have said Product=21000, so how did he play more than 8 rounds?
