If we remove the parentheses, we have:

1/2 - 1/3 + 1/3 - 1/4 + 1/4 - 1/5 + 1/5 - 1/6

We see the two terms of 1/3 cancel. Likewise, the two terms of 1/4 and 1/5 also cancel. Therefore, we are left with:

1/2 - 1/6 = 3/6 - 1/6 = 2/6 = 1/3

Answer: C
