in 2000, gray / all > 1/3
in 2005, gray / all < 1/3
should be 2000

2.
in 2000, gray / blue > 1/2
in 2005, gray / blue < 1/2
so it's 2000

Remember the Y-axis measures percent. The question asks which has the highest percent of optional side bags, so do not calculate anything. Just see the grey bar with maximum length as the bar itself is percent.

for part one:
y2000-> grey/total=6/16=3/8=12.5%*3=37.5%
y2005->grey/total=16/48=1/3=33.33%
so y2000 should be the answer
(corrections are invited with advance thanks)

This is a trick question. The graph on y axis already shows a percentage value. Say you have 100 new cars, then in 2000, then 7 of them have optional airbags and 10 have airbags as standard

When they say the highest percent have optional airbags, they are referring to the 7 number above, which is directly the gray length. If you divide by total again, that would be double percentage

The graph shows new cars sold as percentage in the y axis which can mean percentage of new cars sold among all cars sold. But the question asks percentage of optional airbags among the new cars sold (NOT the percentage of new cars sold).

So, it should be the proportion of the grey part and blue part of the bars. Answer should be 2000
