Can anyone share some guidance on the TOC essay? The word limit is 400, which would be one long TOC! Are any of you doing the Blackman tip to write small narrative descriptions of chapters? How many chapter lines or pages did you end up with?
I don't want to under or overshoot this thing by a ridiculous margin!

Well.. I was not sure how to go about this as well. I divided the table of contents into main sections and sub section. The I limited the main sections to 3-5 words.. Under each main section, I has sub 3-8 sections (limited to 1 line).. In all I had 10 main sections (398 words). I didnot try to be creative..(i knew that wouldnt work for me)

That's what I did. I ended up having 8 chapters, with a couple sentences about each one. 400 words, one page, clean layout, good content. I tried making a real TOC but it just got ridiculous after a certain point.
There were a few of the titles I wrote descriptions or a few words about, but for the most part I only wrote the chapter titles, since many of them are kind of self-explanatory and they highlight things I touched on in my other applications.

Did they start giving out invites for the interviews? Did anyone get an invite?

See below quoted post for one person who has received an interview invitation.

I received my invitation to interview today, so it looks like they're following the same procedure as last year. If you read through last year's thread, it seems pretty random as to who is invited to interview first. Now I have nice long period of post-interview nail-biting to look forward to.
Edit: I submitted my app a few days early, in case anyone was curious.

My application went 'under review' late last week, so if they were to invite me, I shouldn't be getting one until late this week at the very earliest.
Congratulations! My application was under review as of 10/20, so hopefully I'll hear soon. You should post when you're given/you decide on an interview date--I'm interested to see how much time you'll get to prepare.

They ask you to schedule an interview "as soon as possible." So it's ultimately up to you. If you need 2-3 weeks to prepare, then I'm sure you could say that your work schedule is really busy then just schedule a later date.
I submitted my application on 10/11 and it is still showing as "submitted". Any idea whether the app submission date has anything to do with the order in which they go "under review"?
I submitted my application on 10/12, my recommendations were submitted on 10/16 and the application status changed from submitted to under review yesterday (10/25).
My application changed to "Under review" today. My guess is that the first review will happen some time this week or next week. Does anyone know how the invitation for interview process work at johnson, I mean is that decided by a committee or just any reviewer can trigger this invitation??
