Hello, I just gave GMAT and scored 640 on gmat. I have 8 years of software engineering experience. Do you think I should apply for FEMBA program at UCLA or should I retake GMAT and try to get a higher score? Any advice?

If you think you can do better, definitely re-take.... I got a 640 the first time around and with a little of final test prep (adjusting the speed in order to answer every question) a month later I got a 710.
I thought it was good enough, but admissions have not been easy anyway. So I would definetly retake if I were you.
Thanks for the reply. But if I retake I will have to wait till Round 3 as Anderson deadline for Round 2 is soon approaching. I guess I am difficult spot now.

maybe you can self report and then send the transcripts..
or you can apply with the 640 and then submit the new score.
I would definetly look into retaking...i got a 710, 4 years civil engineering in spain, 3.5 gpa and have gotten dinged from booth, waitlisted for kellogg and not been invited for interview yet by UCLA or Haas....IDK if I reallly messed up my essays or something but, If I were you I would definetly think about retaking...plus they like to see that you´ve tried more than once.
applying for R2 tomorrow. Don't think i stand a chance due to lack of WE. undergrad gpa 3.32 electronics eng grad gpa 3.91 biomedical eng gmat 730 w.e = just over 1.5 years by the time of matriculation in a small startup company in university.

iv'ed Dec 13th - no answer. no status update after completing the interview either.
i just called anderson's office to ask about R1 interview invites. they said they are "still evaluating R1 candidates and will continue to send out invites." when i asked when they will give out their final interview, they said "there is no definite deadline and it's an ongoing process".
so from this info, people from R1 without invites yet (including myself) should not be considered dinged...yet. but with final decision deadline in about 2 weeks (jan 25), i don't see much time left for them to give out invites.

each case is different, but essays are most important

Yeah, the way I see it, they are not going to tell you "the last invite will be sent on Wednesday" because that's effectively giving a whole bunch of people their decisions two weeks before the official decision date. I suspect what you heard from them was the official party line - everyone is still in the game until Jan 26. Call me a pessimist but I'm writing off Anderson.

really? for round one?? you international? can I know your stats?
Does Anderson wait list candidates who haven't interviewed yet and give them a chance to update profiles and/or interview? (Haas does this, maybe some other programs do too.) Anyone know?
Glad to hear that more invites went out this week.
