Congratulations on the invitation! Do you mean submitting a video, or interviewing via a program that uses video (Skype)? Several people on this board interviewed via Skype for R1 and R2.

Yes, I am round 3 and have been invited for a video interview as well. This is in addition to the in-person interview I already have scheduled. The video interview says that you will get three questions which you have to answer online.

As Herm007 said above, it will be through an online program where the computer will ask me 3 questions. Not sure if they sent this to everyone or just few of us. I think this might be because of the fact that the notification day is 2 weeks away and they thought that it will be difficult for me to schedule a real interview.

I'm a R3 applicant too - I did not recieve any invites for personal interview - however, I recieved the email today for the video interview. I think this has been sent to everyone. The email says - they are still in the process of reviewing my application and are wrting to invite me to answer a series of short video questions as part of the application process.

Also round three and also received the invite for video interview. I wonder if it is the case that Yale is behind in their review process and wants to make sure they have an interview on file for everyone. If they are interested in a candidate late in the game, they can still make an admission decision while maintaining their "interview everyone who gets an offer" policy.

There were couple of people who got invited for a real interview 10 days ago, so I think they are just testing out a new thing for future years. McCombs made all waitlisted w/o interview applicants do a similar thing. Also, given the fact that the last day to submit the video is May 9th, they will have only few days to make a decision before the May 16th deadline.

The email got me super pumped for a second though - I thought that I was the chosen one

R3 applicant , recieved a video interview invite...really hope its not fake....the email mentions a deadline for submitting this interview , which is week before the final deadline ...i hope this means that they have reviewed the rest of our application and are now looking for one last criteria before making the final decision....
Then again, i dint recieve any invite for in person interview , so i dont know if i am at a disadvantage here

I can confirm that the video invite is legit, though I don't know what the difference is (if any) between that and an in-person interview. I wouldn't worry too much about the differentiation between the two, though of course, I can't give any advice as to how to navigate either interview. Good luck and congrats to all!
