Hi Guys,

Haas gave me an early decision - I am waitlisted! (Read on for full story) ...

Per my conversation (and this might be helpful for the upcoming results next week) - Haas generally tends to under admit in R1 and put quite a few folks on waitlist to enable review the applications in R2 and R3 and then ultimately even everything out. R1 waitlist obviously has a lead over R2 applicant who in turn has a lead over R3 applicant. So the bottomline is, if you are admitted great! but you are waitlisted - it is not over yet!!

...
If you dont get a call on Jan 31st, you are either waitlisted or denied.

Good luck.

Calculas spoke to the adcom earlier this week, and he too mentioned Jan 31. But things change all the time, so you never know.

Now, that just makes it all the more difficult to not actually receive any call!!! :(
Oh god! Please do something great to stop me from checking my application status every 10mins!!!

Question is: does anyone remember the "decision posted by date" for last year round1? I can't remember if it's Feb09 or Feb10. So not sure if that's one day earlier or not.

The decision date last year was Friday, Feb 10th.

Maybe we all weren't accepted!

We have a reasonably diverse group of participants active on this thread, so chances of that happening are remote.

Just did a quick count, there are 30 distinct users posted on this forum so far. Assume 80%-90% are round 1, there are 24-27 round 1 applicant here. :-)
This is about the correct number as reported in the summary page.

Just checked the last year's thread on gmatclub...
The admit folks started reporting calls as early as 9:30am on 9th Feb, with everyone else reporting their status of WL/Denied on 10th Feb...
Assuming thats how Haas operates, then we should have started hearing from them today...
Maybe after they are done with their lunch today? Does anyone think its going to be a good idea to call them and check whats going on?

It would be great if someone could call the admissions office "anonymously" to check whether they are calling today. :P

Does everyone else's status say, "Application Status: (File Under Review)"?

I had read somewhere on gmatclub that last year, approx 750 students had applied for the 250 seats.
That means a 3:1 ratio. Since we have 27 applicants this year for R1. We should see at least 9 admit calls this year too... :(

If the decisions are supposed to be posted online by tomorrow am, then I don't see any point to making calls. So IMO, if they do intend to call, they should do it today.

Unless they're planning the online release at EOB tomorrow or something...yuck!

Two things:

1. Based on anecdotal data, we're more likely to see "above average" (as far as per round applicants) rate of wait listed folks in R1 as they identify candidates that are "pretty solid, but we want to have a better idea of our entire class makeup before we admit another engineer/bay area/consultant/whatever"

2. I would expect that folks that have A. applied in R1 and B. are active in this thread to be generally of a higher caliber than your average applicant.

All that said, smart money is on us all getting in and the call delay being a big prank.

Btw, with the last post, gmatclub just changed my title to be "manager"!!!
Should I report this "important development", and the only "manager" title I have, to the Adcoms?! :-D
