Following prior year trends, I thought I'd open up an area specifically for Admitted Students to exchange information.
I just found the "Community Directory" and you can search for people in your current city and see the name of everyone who has been admitted. Good tool if you're interested in meeting up with local admits. You can find the Community Directory either by logging into the portal and clicking on the button on the right or by logging into the admitted students site and using the link on the left.

Thanks a lot for opening the group! Is anyone going to the Admit Weekend? I will fly from Europe, arriving the 7th and leaving the 10th. Very excited to see you there!
Congrats to everyone as well. I'll be going to admit weekend -- looking forward to meeting everyone there. Since I'm already committed to Booth, I started looking at housing options. Do any Chicago natives has any thoughts on where to live in the loop?

I'm just reposting what I've heard:

Has anyone tried to start the Booth Aid application? I tried to log in with the admitted students login info, but it doesn't seem to work. I tried to setup the CNetID, but that doesn't work either. Anyone else experience the same problem?
I sat through the Financing your MBA session on Admit Weeekend and I'm pretty sure we shouldn't fill anything out until May/June and the Fin Aid office will send us an email with all the info when it is time!
Booth doesn't give need based aid, so there's also no time crunch to submit the FAFSA. That can be done at your leisure.

For those of you who attended the first admit weekend, do you think it's doable for me to split time between the Kellogg and Booth events (i.e. one day in Evanston, one day in Hyde Park)? I wish the two schools could have coordinated a bit!

beehagit, it should be possible to do both. But it could be exhausting. The admit weekend days are very long. In R1, Booth and Kellogg were on consecutive weekends, so that made it slightly easier.

Just skip Kellogg If 2nd round weekend is the same as 1st, try to skip the housing tour day (Saturday for us). I thought the friday was better because it was all on campus and a better chance to meet people and get a feel for everything. Either day will still give you a chance to interact with new admits and get a feel for the culture.
Hi All - could somebody shed some light on how housing works? When's the best time to visit apartments and secure a lease? Is it difficult to secure a lease? (I've heard of waiting lists for the most popular apartments...)
Also - how does one go about finding a roommate? I know there is a google doc going around...are we just supposed to browse and ask around?
