My application status still shows "submitted" as well. I emailed AdCom last week - they replied saying not to attach much importance to online status. They said that as long as the application was submitted before deadline, it will be reviewed in Round 1. Online status does not necessarily reflect actual status of the application.

Why do they make this process so traumatic and painful? Mentioning a date clearly would help all of us. HBS clearly has a much more efficient and much less traumatic process!

HBS also has a gender program in the year 2013. You just worked your butt off to put the app together. Kick back, have a drink and take a load off ;)

No kidding right! While not thrilled about not getting an invite at HBS, this might be worse. Just dragging out the pain - I have just already accepted the idea of not getting an interview since I can't sit on pins and needles for a month!

To those invited: Did you guys contact your interviewers by phone or by email? Do they prefer to be contacted by phone or email?

Others, please feel free to express your opinions. I heard Stanford interviews are pretty casual and conversational. I usually prefer to call people and say hello. I got an invite last week, but it seems that my interviewer is quite busy and replies my email with only a few words. In such a context, is it still a good idea to call and say hello?

In my opinion, I wouldn't...

I don't see what's the matter here?? I thought the email was informative and fair. All they are asking is to be patient.

Agree. I appreciated that the email started by stating it was not an update on our application status. How much clearer could we expect them to be?

Hahaha yeah my heart stopped too, but I appreciate the email. They're just trying to keep over 7000 neurotic applicants at bay! Let's not call the attack dogs :)

Yea, although I was excited to see an Email from Stanford, I'm glad it immediately explained it wasnt about our apps....I felt the Wharton email on the first day of notifications was much worse, that read: "YOURE INVITED"...followed by "to a financing your MBA event". That one was rough.

Sorry I guess I am just doing it to myself, I am so jittery... I suppose I would personally prefer them to write a blog post on this vs. send an email.

Be considerate, put yourself in their shoes. I like the way they put it in the email "Because you're human and so are we."

The fact that the evaluation process takes longer than some of the other schools shows that they are taking the time to develop a holistic picture of you, rather than just based on your test scores, shouldn't you appreciate this?
