So you have received an invite?? I was told that there are specific adcom members who review the african profiles, so hopefully they have put them aside till last!

Any Bay Area (SF) applicants hear back yet?

If not, do you all know SF applicants who have gotten invitations?

There has already been a few from San Francisco on Beat the Gmat.

Can you share the link?

Sorry, can't link it because you have to register for BTG yourself to see the data compilation.

As of right now, I see two people with invites in SF - one in tech, one in consulting.

yup, at one of the information evenings… I can only assume they review them together.. Stanford is focusing a lot of effort on recruiting more individuals from Africa….

I received an invite today... Now I can stop incessantly checking emails

Congrats~ did you walk your neighbor's dog?

Ha no, but I did give a homeless guy $5 last night. Maybe there's something to this karma thing...

Good for you!

I just donated $20 to Paw Chicago, the largest no-kill animal shelter in Chicago.

I am also from Africa and I have not heard anything yet. Let us hope that this bodes well for us! It would make sense that they would review African applicants together as most of us are eligible for the Africa Fellowship which is important to the GSB this year.

I went to an African undergraduate and graduate institution, how many of you did the same? I see that most of the contributions from Africans in this forum are from applicants living in the States.

I have not received an invite. If your theory is true, it means that I still have a chance to receive an invite. But right now it remains only 4 days before the 19th nov and I am considering more seriously my options B and C.

It is good to know that Stanford wants to encourage more applications from Africa. Well, I am an African, based in Africa with an undergraduate degree in Africa. So you are not alone. Although I am applying in Round 2, this is to wish you, my fellow African brother (sister?), good luck!

In that case good luck to you too when you are in our position in a few months time. My advice would be to be patient and to surrender to what will be, will be.

Has anybody living in Nigeria/Africa received invitation from any other B-School apart from Stanford? Please can you let us know? :?:

For those that have interviewed, how much flexibility did you have in scheduling it? After work hours, weekends, etc.?

Still holding out hope and need to decide whether to hang on to an extra vacation day just in case.

the invite email asks you to complete the interview within 1 week of getting the email. my interviewer was really relaxed about scheduling, and we just did it in his office in the afternoon a few days after getting the invite. Seems like there's a lot of flexibility, but within that 1 week timetable.
