I think it's time to move on. Stanford's a great school, and I would've been fortunate to have had a chance to learn there about building and leading world-changing institutions. But I've been fortunate in so many other ways in life: great family, great schooling, great bosses, great colleagues.

I intend to build an exceptional life and to change lives/organization/the world regardless. If someone who can take better advantage of Stanford gets my spot and gets a better chance of making the world I live in a better place, I'm okay with that.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for all your support! Good luck to you all - at Stanford or elsewhere!

To those of you who have gotten in (and are 100% sure you're going to matriculate) please notify the schools you will be rejecting ASAP. Given that you got into GSB there is a strong likelihood that you will get into these other schools as well. By notifying the schools quickly you may be saving someone from the wait-list.

Today we admitted our first round of Class of 2016 MBA students, which is a busy and exciting time for us. This leads right into the holiday season, during which time Stanford University shuts down. While the MBA Admissions Office is closed 23 December-3 January, we know many of you applying in Round 2 plan to work on your application over the holiday break. If you have questions during our winter closure, please take a look at our website for the information you need; You can also submit questions via the Ask a Question form - we will be replying to messages on 30-31 December 2013, and 2-3 January 2014.

As a reminder, the deadline for applying in Round 2 is 8 January 2014, 5:00 PM PST. We look forward to reading your application in the new year!
