I am from India and i got 790 in GMAT but my GPA according to US system is very low i.e. 2.2. So, my only question is can i get into LSB or Harvard or Stamford ? Is there any chance ? I have 2 yrs. work experience in CIL (Coal India Limited). will the recommendations help?

Hi there,
That is an amazing GMAT! I'm not entirely positive you've converted your GPA accurately. I would incredibly surprised if it was actually a 2.2.
BUT - to tell you more about your chances, I need a lot more information. What do you do for CIL? What did you do in undergrad? Are you involved in anything outside of work? What types of recommendations can you count on and from who?
I'd love to help and the more you can share the better!

Hi sir,
As of now, I am acting as Assistant Manager in CIL. I have been to various u/g mines and my specialization is in mining machinery equipment. I did my B.Tech from ISM-Dhanbad in Mining Machinery Engineering. I can get the recommendations from my Mine Manager and the GM and the kind but i surely can try to get a recommendation from the head of CIL (if that is possible) and i can get a lot of recommendations from my professors who used to teach me in college (but i don't know if it will matter!). And about my GPA, according to Indian system i have an OGPA of 7.12 out of 10 but in my college it is absolute, so i am clearly at a loss as the topper has 8.7 only! So, i used some kind of software from a site and that software did the rest. Other than all this, i have keen interest in Music and blogging (i don't think this will matter either!).
Nonetheless, thank you sir for attending to my query and hope to hear from you soon.
