Hi all,
I came across this wonderful site a few days ago as I was thinking about signing up for the GMAT. I am currently a senior economics major at a top-15 academic institution with a 3.9gpa. I already have a job lined up at a major investment bank in NYC this summer. I was wondering whether or not it is worth taking the test during my senior spring? Or should I just fully enjoy my last semester and worry about it in a couple of years? Thank you very much in advance, and I look forward to receiving any feedback.

If you are fairly certain that you will apply to b-school within the next 4-5 years, I would recommend taking it.
With a job in banking, I don't foresee you having any time to study once you start work! I have just graduated and am not working in a job as hours-demanding as banking and I am already finding it increasingly harder to study. If your schedule is not too rough for second semester, I recommend taking the exam while you are still used to tests and being a student. Then, you can use the summer before work to fully relax and you don't have to study over the summer.

Concur. The GMAT is probably the worst part of the application process. If you can get it out of the way now, do it.
