Hi Arnav180,

Was that Practice Test your first practice CAT?

Certain practice CATs are more realistic than others. The most realistic ones are offered by GMAC. You can download 2 for free from www.mba.com and there are 2 others than can be purchased.

Another important aspect about taking a CAT is that the results are only realistic if you take the CAT in a way that matches what you'll face on Test Day. This means that you MUST take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections), in one sitting, in a test-like fashion, away from your home, etc. The more you deviate from the parameters you'll face on the Official GMAT, the less realistic the score result can become.

Thanks for the reply.

It was my second GMAT test. I gave the test exactly in the prevailing conditions for the GMAT. but the test did not had an IR or essay section . The difference between the GMAT Prep software test and Babson test is of 40 points. I just wanted to if the Babson test are good enough to be relied on their score..

Hi Arnav180,

I have never used a Babson Test before, so I have no basis to recommend it or not. There are plenty of reputable CATs to be had though, so if you're not sure about a particular "set" of CATs, then you can always purchase a different set.

As I mentioned before, a realistic score result depends on taking the CAT in a realistic fashion. If you skip the Essay and IR sections (or if you're not given the opportunity to take those sections), then you will likely receive a score that is "inflated" and unrealistic.

Hi anup91,

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. Did you receive a score after taking this CAT? If so, then what was it? If not, then I have to wonder about the usefulness of a resource that does not give you a score result.

Either way, it sounds like you're still studying.

1) What is your score goal?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
