Maintain hope y'all! I just got an interview invite.

Background: American male from the South - reapplicant (dinged with interview in 2012) - now living in the Bay Area - 3 years MBB consulting (including 1 year secondment at a VC fund in Kenya) + 2 years at big tech (Google, Facebook, Apple) - submitted day of deadline

Also want to say that I don't think location or time of submission has anything to do with it. 2 years ago when I interviewed, my roommate and I were the only 2 R1 interviewees in Kenya. We submitted around the same time, but I received an interview on the very first day they were given out and she received an interview on the very last day. I think Derrick Bolton was being honest in this P&Q post (mentioned 2 weeks ago) when he says that each AdCom member is given a stack based off their expertise, and he/she works his/her way through the stack

Also -- read through last year's blog around this time. Looks like people have done similar analyses in the past correlating dates interviews were extended with time of submission, industry, geography, etc. and everyone is in the same state of confusion because no real correlation exists. It also looks like a big wave went out in the last week last year, so hold on tight!

Dude, I'm guessing your weakness on the Verbal portion of the GMAT was CR.

From the Stanford email:

First things first -- this update is not specific to your Stanford MBA application. It pertains to all first-round applicants.

That said, we know waiting is hard! We have been hearing from candidates that knowing more about what’s happening inside the “black box” might be helpful, so we are writing to share a little more information with you.
•As promised, we will begin issuing interview invitations on 27 October.
•Also as promised, we will send invitations regularly through 25 November.
•If you have not received an interview invitation by end of day 25 November, you will not be admitted in this round.

It's been funny watching jlgdr's slow mental deterioration over the past month. It's like watching Anakin slowly convert to the dark side.

Anyways, I think there have been a lot of invites that have gone out this week - more than last week for sure. Things are starting to look dire for the rest of us stranded on the island, but this will make it just that much sweeter if we DO get an invite...

I agree that many invites went out this week, but I would bet that ~25% have not yet been sent. Keep hope alive everyone, for ten more days.

There is still hope! If you look at last year's forum for Stanford, not only did folks receive invitation up to and through the last week, but the number of invitations sent was over double (for a similar sample size) what has been seen this year. Now I am not suggesting that only 50% of the invitations have gone out at this point, but I don't think people should be losing hope or getting down when there are still eleven days left for invitations to be released.

Hmm..out of curiosity, do Stanford also send rejection emails in this period. Or do they wait till its 25th night for us to know that we havent made it (I think this was what Booth did).

I love it when they wish us success in their ding letters and tell us how hard that decision was.

(+ if you are getting that from MIT, they send you advert. emails the next day regarding their various other programs,
short courses etc.)
