I had submitted my application on 09/15 and until couple of days ago it clearly showed "Application Complete Date: 09/15/2014", I checked today and that message has disappeared. Have others experienced something similar or should I inquire from the adcom.

in my opinion you are reading too much into it. if there's an interview invite, it will come :)

I just received the call. Not admitted to regular term but invited to join for the J-term. Quite unexpected!!!
I will take the weekend to thinkg about this.
Any suggestions/ideas?
Thanks!

hi nicoki,
congrats on acceptance to J-term! can you share a bit more about your background? i'm curious to know why CBS believes you were are good fit for j term given that you applied regular term. I assume you applied ED as well right? are you going back to family business or planning on staying in same industry / career path to begin with?

just wondering because i'm about to submit and was also contemplating J-term since i want to return to similar field (renewable energy) but definitely in a new / expanded role.

thanks for insight!

I am in the same exact boat as you! I applied ED regular and got invited to do J-Term instead. They said that I could either accept the J-Term invite or I could deny it and then my application would be re-evaluated by the admissions council for regular term (in which I was not guaranteed a spot).

My background is 4 years in investment management and I am staying in the same industry afterwards.

Application submitted 9/1
Invited to interview 9/15
Interview 9/19
Feedback for interview submitted 9/19 late in the day
Acceptance for J-Term 9/25

I am leaning towards doing the J-Term because it makes sense for me and I never even considered it beforehand until now. My hesitation was that the J-Term does not have the internship which can feed into a full-time job. However, after speaking with a current J-Term student, he reassured me there are lots of opportunities to recruit and that the internship is sometimes more geared for career-changers, and not all students doing internships get job offers anyways.

Are you also leaning towards doing the J-Term too? I have the weekend to decide as well! And here I thought I was the only one going through this!

I just received an e-mail from Columbia stating that the admissions person would like to speak to me regarding my application and that I should give them a call. I tried calling back but he was busy and haven't heard back since. My interview was submitted 09/19. What could this be about? An admit call or a "request for information" call?

I submitted my app on 9/12 and have not received any updates. I felt that I had a strong application and am trying to remain optimistic. It seems people expect a reply within 2 weeks but from reading the CBS website it can take up to 6. They try to reply within 2 weeks regarding final admit decisions once they receive your interview report.

Has anyone who applied 9/10 or later heard back?

I sent email to one of my interviewers to schedule the interview on Sunday morning, but she hasn't replied me yet. When I want to move on the next interview, I just realized that I need to wait for 2 business days, right? Not just two days?

yes, two business days, not two days.

But to be honest, it's fine if you send an email to another interviewer. You waited. You want to facilitate the process to take advantage of the rolling admission process. If i were you, i would send an email now. Anyways, it's the national day holiday, i don't think you will be able to finish your interview anytime soon, unless you are super lucky.

In the meantime, check out the clear admit interview reports and have lots of practice.

Best of luck!

Cheers,
