At one point, she believed GMAT wasn’t for her. After scoring 595, self-doubt crept in and she questioned her potential. But instead of quitting, she made the right strategic changes. The result? A remarkable comeback to 695. Check out how Saakshi did it.

I gave my first CAT on oct 3 (v33) without looking at a single concept. Started studying in the last week of october and Since then my score has only fallen. It went from a V33 to a V31(MGMAT) to a V28(Gmatprep-nov 9) I gave a GMATprep today, nov 20, and got a V30 (0 wrong in CR, 5 wrong in SC, 9 wrong in RC)
I have completed all concepts. I have read the MGMAT SC and the powerscore CR bible. I took the E-gmat course and understood all the concepts. I personally believe my concepts are way more clear now, specially compared to what they were on Oct 3. I handle OG questions well when I handle them topic wise.
I have just not been able to practice much. I have done all the questions in the course. But i think I really lack the practice of handling a mixed mag of questions which come in a test.
I have not had a single day of Quant practice, but still I'm consistently scoring a Q50. When I started my studies I really expected to take my score from a V33 to a V40 at least (considering I knew none of the concepts when I was a V33). But now I'm literally devastated. I dont know if can go from a V30 to a V40 in 7 days.
Really need help on what to do these 7 days. (I need one day for pure quant and one day for AWA and IR.)

Hi,
My suggestion would be this -
1. Get GMAT Question Set Pack from mba.com. It is really good. Practice in sets of 10-20s, equal amount of SCs, CRs and RCs. You will be able to pin point where your mistakes lie. 2. There might be a case that if one throws a random question at you, you might be able to solve it, but that might not be the case in an examination because you are already thinking about what if you screw the section up ! At least I did, and the question bank helped me a lot in overcoming that. Because once you see that you are getting some eight correct in a set of ten questions on a consistent basis, it might help you a lot ! 3. Leave Manhattan tests for a little while, and practice the old questions which have come in the GMAT. Manhattan website has a forum where such questions are placed. 4. For CR- Manhattan CR book is gold. It will take you less than half a day to complete- if you haven't already, do it cover to cover.
Taking the question pack makes sense. My top priority right now is to finish the entire verbal review. I have done OG. But the verbal review is left. I'm not sure how much time I should spend on it.
CR: I absolutely love CR. And I'm good at it too. I think so little practice would be good.
I'm extremely worried about RC. Don't know how to improve it in 1 or 2 days. I am an avid reader of all business publications but it's the other non business topics that put me off track. I am not some one with the best memory, and I lose track of the passage mid way. Sometimes my mind wanders off to other things, making me think I have major concentration issues. For the Next 24 hours I am planning to go all out on RCs. Maybe pure practice will do the trick for me.
I am actually wondering whether to postpone the exam by 10-15 days. Today is the last day to do it. It will reduce the time I have for writing my applications(January) and make me miss 1 college deadline(ISB). But it gives me the practice time that I really haven't had. Decision is still a 50-50 :/

Hi navkaran,
Our tutors advise that one week before the GMAT, "you should cover the last of new topics and concepts. Start reviewing what you have already learned with practice questions and simulation tests. Alternate between taking sim tests and reviewing strategy. Be sure to simulate actual test conditions as much as possible. Take full-length tests to get accustomed to timing. It can be exhausting, but you don’t want your first encounter with the format to come on test day. Focus on good sleep and exercise habits. If you don’t already have a solid sleep routine, begin one as soon as possible so that you are well rested for the test. Light exercise may help with nerves as well."
Hope this helps. Best of luck on exam day!
