While using egmat how much do you cover per day and do you concentrate only one module like sc/cr/rc or all of them. How do you divide your preparation in a day.
Do you have some plan for 50days.
kindly explain.

Hi Mechmeera,

Since it looks like you're only interested in Verbal material and you're on a limited timeframe, you might consider the EMPOWERgmat Verbal Score Booster. Most of our clients can finish that Study Plan in under a month (and you'd actually have access to the ENTIRE EMPOWERgmat Course, so you can do additional work in other areas if you choose).

When are you planning to take your GMAT?
What is your score goal?

Great job!!!! thanks for all the advice, I am sure it will all come in handy, especially the tips about pacing yourself, making small changes in your lifestyle to accomodate a new study schedule and most importantly to step up a study schedule and avoid procrastination. Sometimes people dont realise that setting all these things up ahead of time helps as much as studying for months on end. thanks again and congrats :)

Hi Prem,

Congrats on your score. Please answer below question so that I can find out how and what approach will help me to improve verbal score:
1. My score do not improve from V17 though I have studied MGMAT books, eGMAT online course.
2. Understanding the structure of a sentence becomes difficult, therefore RC is not improving

Thanks in advance

Hi lipsi18,

You've mentioned some of the resources that you've used during your studies, but I'd like to know a bit more about what you've done:

1) How long have you studied?
2) How many FULL-LENGTH CATs have you taken (and what were your scores, including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores?)?

3) Do you have trouble finishing any of the sections on time? How many questions do you have to guess on? Do you ever leave any questions unanswered?

4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?

Hi Rich,

Thanks for your post, below are my responses:

1. There have been continuous gap in my GMAT preparations. I'm trying to write GMAT since 2013.I work full time, devote 2 hrs daily in weekday and around 6 hrs in weekend.I'm non native and studied in non English medium school till 10th, so my grammatical and comprehension skills are weak
2. I have taken 3 full length CATs; Kaplan 520(Q40;V17); Veritus Prep 540(Q42;V17); GMAT Prep 470(Q42;V15)
3. I skip(mark random answers) 2 RC in verbal section to focus more on CR and SC part, as my reading speed is pretty slow and RC is my pain area. In verbal if I'm not able to understand any question I just mark randomly and proceed. I need to speed up in verbal so skip questions. But in Quant I don't face this issues
4. My goal score >=700
5. I was planning to take Gmat by June end, but now its not possible so I'm extending until I improve my score. But July mid/end is my target now

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Hi lipsi18,

Given your practice scores, Verbal 'issues' and score goal, a July Test Date is NOT realistic. To score 700+, you're going to have to make some significant improvements to BOTH your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores and that's going to take time. Beyond learning and practicing a series of new tactics, you also appear to be 'stuck' at your current general scoring level, which means that you've developed some 'bad habits' during your studies. It will take a certain amount of time and training to get you out of those bad habits and into new 'good habits.'

I suspect that 3 months of consistent, guided study is what's going to be required here. You're also going to need to invest in a GMAT Course of some type. Thankfully, there are plenty of options to choose from. Most GMAT Companies offer some type of free materials (practice problems, Trial Accounts, videos, etc.) that you can use to 'test out' a product before you buy it. We have a variety of those resources at out site (www.empowergmat.com). I suggest that you take advantage of all of them then choose the one that best matches your personality, timeline and budget.

If you have any additional question, then just let me know.
