Hello,
I am exploring my MBA options and I just came across this school.
My overall GPA is only about 2.6.... but that's including my 1st and 2nd year stuff, where I totally bombed many courses (intro to literature, philosophy, etc). Latter 2 years I got a GPA of about 3.75.... when I finally "smartened up".
Work experience is all over the place, with many years doing data entry, some admin work with the government and now just working Trade Finance with a bank.
Haven't done my GMAT yet.
I am thinking of Hitotsubashi since the tuition is significantly lower than my local schools (UBC/SFU). While I would prefer a school in the Kansai/Osaka area (hence my username), apparently not too many renown English-MBA in the area. The most enticing part for me is the exchange program with the possibility to go check out Yale and London Business School.
Anyone know how competitive are the spots in the MBA program? I think GMAT 620 was stated as the minimum, but what's the average for students being accepted?
How does internship work? Are positions found and assigned or does one have to search it and plan it themselves?
Any grad can give any feedback on the value of the MBA from Hitotsubashi? I mean I know it's a good school (my wife from Osaka said it's a good school), but how valuable is it for a gaijin who may wish to eventually use it back in North America.
Thanks!
