I got an Interview call from HKUST and i wanted to know a bit more about the interviews.
1. There are two interviews one with the Admission committee and one with the Alumni. How are the two interviews different from each other
2. What type of questions can we expect? Can you give some examples. Is it more of a generic based or we might expect some on the spot case studies as well.
3. In how much time can we expect a result?
4. What is past selection ratio from the interview?
I would be grateful if you can help me with these questions
Thanks.

I am at current student so can take this question. One correction - one round is by the admissions team and the other by a current student (not alumni). Check out the main HKUST forum for the answers. There are similar posts there asking essentially the same thing:
Q1 and Q2 - probably (hopefully) not since the interview doesnt last that long and cases take time. Having said that, every person is different so the current student taking the interview might ask 1-2 odd out of the box questions to see how to handle pressure. In such cases, the idea is to understand your personality and fit for the class and nothing else.
Q3 - Essentially 1-3 weeks
Q4 - Admissions team would know that. That is not essentially in public domain.
Best Regards, Mridul
