After months of on and off preparation and procrastination . i finally decided to take the dreaded GMAT. I arrived at the test center Saturday morning and just took a screw it approach. I had done my CAT exams and was averaging around 700 Verbal and Quant. The essay portion was not that difficult and found myself with a few extra minutes to spare. So i relaxed and got ready for the IR portion after completing the IR portion which I found unusually simple. I took my first break where I chowed down MOnster eneergy drinks and a few power bars ( BTW SO HELPFUL). I got to work on the Quant section and noticed I was breezing through the questions but they were not getting harder so I decided to slow my approach down and took longer to answer the questions. Which I think dramatically increased my score because they were getting so much harder and I guessed on the last two questions with almost no time left. Took another break and chugged more monster and power bars. The Verbal section was a breeze (Verbal being my strong suit) and was so nervous to see my score when Q46 V 45 a 730!!!!! I started yelling screaming and kicking they had to ask me to calm down before I got my scores cancellled! I was very excited to be finished with this long joiurney. I can honestly say the best approach to this is to calm down before you take the test.
My resources used were:
OG Guides 2015,2017 QP 1+2 EP 1+2
GMAT CLUB CAT exams
MGMAT Guides and Advanced Quant
PowerScore LSAT Bible
LSAT past exams.
Thursdays with Ron
A few of the resources which were a complete waste of time were Princeton, Kaplan and McGraw Hill I can honestly say dont waste your time with those.
Best of luck to everyone and btw my first CAT exam was a 540 mainly due to rushing I had 20 minutes to spare in both Quant and Verbal by the time I was finished!
