3. GMAT Club tests: Early feb I started attempting gmat club verbal quizzes which you get free access to once you sign up for e-gmat. My first 3 attempts were V26, 22 26. This was very disappointing considering less than a month left in the exam. Main reason was CR and as I got comfortable with pre-thinking I got 32 and 34 in next 2 attempts.

Hi Mayank congrats for the big score.
Can u please share more about gmatclub verbal test scores?
As u said that you got 32 and 34 ,were these your highest scores in gmat club verbal test?
what was your last verbal score in gmatclub test just before the real exam?

Hi

I scored V34 in the last verbal test I attempted on GMAT Club, and that attempt was 2 weeks before the test. For some reason questions on GMAT club verbal didn't seem right compared to GMAT Prep and e-gmat questions. I then moved to practice in e-gmat and test attempts in 800score and GMAT Prep. In 800score I attempted 2 verbal quizzes and scored 32 and 36. Day before the exam I gave full GMAT exam at GMATPrep and score V39 in the verbal.

Hope this helps.

Congrats on your score! I have exactly 4 weeks and, just like you, have been using e-GMAT as my study material.

However, I never seem able to score past 70% in the CR Scholaranium ability quiz May I know what was your average CR ability score a few weeks before your GMAT exam?

RTJP - At 70 percentile you should be okay. Just focus on revising your weakness. Mayank's last CR ability was 78 percentile as per the data I have.

Hi mayank

I have pretty much the same time to prepare(3 months).Just wanted to know that how much were you scoring in OG quiz given in e-gmat after each subsection of verbal sc in first attempt and how did you tackle your weaknesses found in them?

Thanks and congrats on a great score

Hi Dakkon,
Thanks a lot. When I started at e-gmat, it was the old platform where they were just listing the relevant questions in OG for each subsection. So, e-gmat did not have the interface back then to select the answer choice and get the ability score. Therefore, my OG quiz attempts were on paper. If I remember correctly on average my accuracy was 60-70% during first attempts. Keep in mind this is accuracy not ability.
The key for improvement was to understand why incorrect choices are wrong, even if I attempted the questions correctly. Another was to train my brain to make sure to understand the meaning correctly and do the analysis before looking at answer choices.

Hope this helps.

Great score. Very inspiring. I think this gives hope to everyone aspiring to get 700 plus.

If I may ask, how come IR was 3/8 ? Did you struggle with it?

Thanks a lot. I didn't practice IR much, maybe 20-25 questions. During the exam I thought I was doing well in IR but certainly the score reflects otherwise.
