What do you think? Is it right to have these rite of passage rituals? How does it make you feel about the program?
...

I think "rite of passage" rituals are an outdated thing in general, whether it is in the military, university or a sports team.

The may have had their place some time ago, but especially since people have been eager to always "one up" their predecessors those rituals often got out of hand.

Should we really be worried about Insead losing accreditation? On PQ, people claim theyre withdrawing their applications.

Is it that serious?

There are two things that we need to keep into account-
(1) Most of the stories that we read or come across are based on speculations and grapevine or have blown everything out of proportion. TLDR: Some students reported some incident and investigation is still on. All that is officially confirmed for now is that a small part of orientation week has been canceled.
(2) The entire INSEAD experience remains the same. I will be surprised if someone withdrew application based on news reports. I havn't heard of any faculty member resigning based on these half-baked media reports. Well, if that were to happen, I would be perturbed as an applicant.
