The right answer here is D. Although this question is fairly challenging, it still follows the same pattern that a lot of SC questions do, and has two major flashpoints to look out for.
The first point that allows us to eliminate options is the comma splice rule. After "Elisabeth van Dorp was an active participant in many feminist movements", we should see a modifier, and not an entire independent clause. The use of the subject "she" again is what makes this a problem. Options A, C, E all therefore are comma splices, and so are OUT
The second point has a lot more to do with the meaning of the sentence. If the sentence starts by telling us about EvD's active participation in feminist movements, it should first tell us about what she did enthusiastically do before telling us what she was against. This is what B gets wrong, and is for this reason OUT
Hence, we're just left with D.
