Any realistic advice on keeping your mind fresh and nimble during the test? Please keep your advises short and simple.

1. Good Sleep the night before.
2. During the test - deep long breaths as more oxygen will relax your nerves
3. Avoid thinking that your self worth is attached to the score you will get and this thought should keep you pretty relaxed

All the best !

If you start feeling pressured, just take 30 seconds off and take deep breathes. (30-seconds off is better than dicey answers for the next few questions)
Look away from the screen & remind yourself that you've got this!

Two things that are a big no during the test:

1. Result orientation
While writing the test there's literally no point thinking about 'what's the score going to be'. Tackle what's in front of you in that moment and the score will take care of itself.
You just give the test your best shot and you'll do just fine.

2. Constant self-assessment during the test
The right time for constant self-assessment is during the prep, not during the actual test.
Thinking about 'Was the last question answered incorrectly?', 'Is the level of test going down, and does that mean you've answered last couple of questions incorrectly?'
There's literally no scope for these thoughts because they're going to do more harm than gain.

Take deep breathes, look away from the screen, visualize that you've got that 7xx score that you want & get back to it.
You'll do just fine! All the best!

Thank you. This was the kind of realistic advice I was looking for.

It is not about that 3.5 hours only, you have to practice and train yourself , like any-other situation in-life, Being calm is an art one needs to practice, start daily minutes of any practice to get in the state of peace.
Use any technique.
1.Example:- Anchor yourself with positivism towards the exam, take it as an opportunity. (TRUST ME IT WORKS)

2.Example:- Before mocks try to artificially raise your heart rate by few jumps or burpees ( or anything else) .

For more techniques do comment.

Just take deep breathes whenever you feel like you can't do it. Exams can be hectic but at the end its just an exam, all you have to remind yourself your hardwork is gonna to pay off after this 3.5 hours and you can't afford to make it go wrong. You will be okay. Good luck.

Any realistic advice on keeping your mind fresh and nimble during the test? Please keep your advises short and simple.
Practice your brain from the practice phase itself. Solve 5 RCs, 10 CRs and 20 SCs each day
And follow a quiz format for Quant too, 31-35 questions per day.
You need to keep working on the fatigue.

Always take each practice test in full.... It will train your mind for whats coming

Try doing mock test in the same time slot for couple of days, so you can manage your hunger and day routine, and get used to it

When taking the GMAT, the best way to deal with stress is to get busy answering the question in front of you, focusing completely on the task at hand so that you redirect all of that nervous energy and naturally calm down. In other words, you distract yourself with a goal. Just tell yourself that all that matters is getting the correct answer to the question in front of you, and then when you have finished that question, take the same attitude toward the next one. Focus on winning each “mini-battle” and you won't have time for anxiety. If you can win enough of those battles, you can win the GMAT war, right?
