Hello all,

I just wanted to provide an update to my R2 MBA application. I just got dinged from Simon's MBA program. I applied on Jan. 4th, invited to interview Jan. 15th, interviewed Jan. 27th. I just received email this morning. This is was due to my lesser than optimal post-graduate work experience, which is completely understandable. However, the admissions committee let me know I was very competitive for the MS Finance program at Simon so I will be working with their team to pursue that route instead.

NOTE: If you have 1 - 2 years of WE this may be a great option as they are ranked #3 in Finance in the United States according to Financial Times. Wish you all the best of luck in your application! Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Nikhil,

The Admissions Committee requested that I confirm my interest in the MS Finance program. Once I confirmed my interest, they automatically began to consider me as an applicant to their program. No need to submit any additional documents/information or re-apply! Seems like a very smooth transition. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know!

I am an R2 applicant and I haven't made any contact yet. The website says that the last day to hear back for R2 is in March. I will send them an email as I can see few applicants who have already heard back and gave interview after me.

I gave my interview on 27th Jan and yet to get the results. Surprisingly students who gave interviews after 27th Jan has received their admissions while there are a few people who gave before 27th Jan and yet to get the results. some had to wait for three weeks and some only for three days. Fingers crossed. All the best

My concern too. I recall their scholarship weekend is also around this time. I wonder if any invites have been sent out for that yet.

You can mail the admission team to check the current status. I am sure they will update you about the March deadline and all updates will be communicated as and when you get etc. You might not get other update as no admission team responds about the result outcome as a response to the candidate email. Because results will be posted to the candidates as and when any update happens to the application. But still they will atleast know that you are curious, Interested and serious about your result outcome with their university.
