Is x > y ?

(1) |x – y| < |x|

This is only telling us that either x and y are both positive or both negative because otherwise, LHS won't be less than |x|

Since there are no restrictions we can easily choose cases to prove both yes and no are possible.
then,
Yes case: x=10 and y= 5 and |10 – 5| < |10|
No case: x=-10 and y=-5 and |-10 – (-5)| < |-10|


(2) |x| > |y|

Not sufficient as well since
Yes case: x=10 and y= 5
No case: x=-10 and y=-5

c) Because the same examples can be used for both the statements, So, E!
