Although the creation of smaller electronic products and devices saves power, such miniaturization may not always provide higher value as can be seen in the case of state of the art 22nm processors from Intel which consume 30% less power but do not last as long as the comparable 45nm processors from AMD as they prevent electrical disturbances from damaging the processor thus reducing the need to replace them ever so often. Therefore, data centers that seek to lower overall costs today are well advised to go with the AMD processors.
The author’s recommendation may be flawed because it fails to consider:
A. That AMD processors may not perform as well as Intel Processors do.
B. Cost savings due to lower power consumption vs. the cost of replacement of processors.
C. Whether the cost of processors has increased in the last few years or stayed more or less the same.

The conclusion is far fetched. The example stated covers just one type of processors from each company (Intel and AMD) and using this example, the author comments upon the entire range of Processors.

2. The costs of replacement are higher than the costs of added power consumption.

Conclusion - Data centers that seek to lower overall costs today are well advised to go with the AMD processors.
Premise - AMD Processor is better because the need to preplace them is reduced.
The entire argument of author is based on the fact that cost can be reduced as there is no replacement cost involved. We need to find an answer choice that will say that using Intel processor will have some cost benefit.
