The Answer is A. In winter it frequently snowys in the mountains, but nothing is mentioned as to whether it can snow in summer or not. Just because snow fell doesn't mean it has to be winter.

Similarly if the dog sheds in spring, it doesn't mean that it is only a Collie because other types may also shed in the spring.

C is not the choice, because the crystal paperweights are always dusted no matter what. If it is not dusted, then we can be certain that it is not a crystal paperweight. Hence C's logical reasoning is different because it is actually correct.

this got to be one of the least time taken question i have ever committed the flawless reasoning is quite simple ,something is meant to happen on the basis of aomething , for sake of clarity let us assume if A happens then B must commence therefore if B is committed then it's mandatory that A should happen therefore the only option that standa out being A hence IMO A

If the dog is a collie, it will shed its downy undercoat only in the spring. The dog shed in the spring, so it must be a collie.

Which one of the following selections demonstrates the same reasoning presented in the passage?

Parallel type questions :

Here the given argument is flawed as we are taking the converse to be granted.

A -> B then B-> A this may/may not be right.

The same is this case where if Dog=Collie -> Sheds in Spring, So it's not logical to say If a Dog sheds in spring ->its Collie.

The converse is not true. We need to pick a similar flaw in the passage.

(A) In the winter time in the mountains, it frequently snows. Three inches of snow fell last night, so it must be winter.
WT -> Snows (Fact) C: Snows -> Winter, This is flawed. It has the same flaw which is mentioned above so this should be the correct choice.

(B) When the wind sweeps down from the mountains, a cold front will follow right behind. Right now the winds are gusting up to 40 mph, so a cold front must be on its way.
WS down -> CF (Fact), WS up -> CF. This is also flawed,but the flaw is not the same as mentioned above.

(C) The crystal paperweights(CP) in Sharon’s paperweight collection are always dusted very carefully. The red paperweight(RP) is not handled carefully when dusted, so it must not be a crystal paperweight.
All CP are dusted(Fact), RP is not dusted this means it is not a CP. There is no flaw in the argument. Hence incorrect.

(D) One more hard frost would kill the tomato plants. But a week later, the tomato plants were still alive. Therefore, a hard frost must not have occurred within the last week. Similar logic as C

(E) One must be very coordinated like Franklin to be a good drummer. However, Franklin’s inability to read music will prevent him from being a good drummer.Here there are no common points between the Premise and Conclusion. Hence it doesn't follow the given structure.
