Use the topic by topic streaks method. I used 15 for <600, 10 for 600-700 and 5 for 700+.
Yes! The topic by topic streaks method is a game-changing approach.

For anyone who is wondering how it works, here's a post on it. https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-practic ... 56936.html

Quote:
This is not a Maths or English test, it’s a test of Quantitative and Verbal logic. I found the process easier once I grasped this change.
That's a key understanding that is super important for GMAT mastery.

Congrats! May all go well for you going forward as well.

Rich from EmpowerGMAT reached out to me and advised that my ESR suggests that I approach Quant like an engineer and not as a ‘GMAT assassin’ and that I spend far too long on SC (and not long enough on CR and RC). I completed the 2-month Score Booster program through EmpowerGMAT (152 hours) and saw a significant improvement in my OG testing (710, 740 and 740 on my last 3 attempts). I was only able to use the Score Booster because I already used TTP and had a strong understanding of both Quant and Verbal basics.

I'm currently in a similar situation as you were. Could you describe what that difference is? Engineer vs GMAT assassin?

I'll let EMPOWERgmatRichC reach out to you properly, but the biggest changes for me were:

1. Changing my mindset from this being a 'Maths' test to a logical test with quantitative concepts.
2. The hardest questions are not worth the most (unlike most exams); if you nail every easy and medium question, you will get a Q47/48. Guess luckily on a couple of hard questions and you're on Q49.
3. Testing the answers to solve the question backwards works for over 50% of the questions and saves a lot of time. Do not underestimate this method.
4. Using logic or standardised testing shortcuts. E.g. You test answer B and the result is too small, so you test answer D and the result is too big. The correct answer most likely is C, but I used to spend 30 seconds testing C for peace of mind. You don't have the luxury of doing that on the GMAT because timing plays a huge part.
