Hi Everyone,
I took my enhanced online GMAT on 9th of June and wanted to share my prep journey and exam experience. Hope this could help some of you out there
Preparation JourneyWith lock-down in place and things becoming difficult at work, I decided to take a short sabbatical and give my GMAT exam so I could apply for MBA in first round itself. I started preparing in 1st week of April. Initially the preparation was a little haywire, I just learnt things from here and there. It was still going okay for quant since I was an engineering student, however verbal was something I really need to improve upon and I really did not have a good plan in place for the same. By 10th of April I had realized that I need professional guidance for my preparation and that's when I got in touch with an E-gmat expert (Archit Bhargawa) and he guided me to work on my CR and RC basics (based on the e-sigma mock I had given to check my ability), before even thinking about scoring 700+ and since I had taken the course and year or so back as well (however did not utilize it to it's full potential), the authorities offered me a ~1.5month course at a discounted price.
E-gmat has 3 level of preparation based on the ability of the person; level one helps set up the foundation, level 2 helps cement the methods and process learnt in L1 and level 3 helps improve our efficiency and accuracy. Archit helped me identify which stage was I at in each sub-section and suggested a step by step plan forward. This planned really helped me stay on track. Archit also had regular check-ins with me in the last 20days of my preparation so I didn't lose motivation and didn't waste time just doing random questions.
I especially like the verbal section in the course, the video lessons and the question solving strategies defined by the team are on point and helps person identify where exactly did he/she falter. The practice questions quality was similar to that of actual GMAT and we had enough questions for each difficulty level, so didn't have to run to other platforms to find questions. Along with the E-gmat resources, I solved quant & RC OG questions; e-gmat also provided detailed explanations for OG questions. After each e-sigma mock, Archit helped me identify my mistakes and the way-forward to improve upon my weak spots.
For the GMAT mocks - I used all my e-sigma mocks and gave 4 official mocks before my exams (my scores were in the range of 700-760, with Q50 constant through most of the quizzes).
Exam day:Check in - I could only launch my exam at the allotted time, not 15mins prior as the website mentions. As soon as I contacted my proctor, she asked me download this app called GoTomeeting however due to some glitch i couldn't download that app, so proctor suggested to continue exam using Zoom. The check-in process there-after was smooth and the proctor helped answer all my queries.
I started with Quant first and found a few questions very tough and I though I wouldn't score >=Q50, this demoralized me slightly and with that mind-set I went in to give the verbal exam where I found a couple of initial questions extremely tricky, post ~10 questions I had got a hang of things and I was comfortable in this section. IR seemed fine (scored 5), however I couldn't solve all the 12 questions in time; probably because I hadn't practiced a lot of IR before the exam. Then, the last section, AWA, for which I only read few samples essays 2 days before the exam and had memorized a template, so test seemed super easy.
Last part is where you get to see your scores and I was surprised to score Q50, however slightly disappointed with my verbal score (Q38) since I was aiming for a >750; however I plan to stick to this score now and am bracing my self for an even tougher journey to write the applications.
Post the exam completion, the proctor has to see if the white board you are using is clean or not and the proctor didn't respond to any of my messages, and i tried calling her a multiple times through mike. I waited for almost 7mins and went to the examity expert chat bot, they took a minute or so to respond and were then quick to call my proctor back. I was finally able to log-off for the day after ~15mins of exam completion.
Special ThanksI would really like to thank E-gmat and especially Archit for all the guidance and support throughout my prep journey

Best Regards,
Vaishali
