Hey HarshaBujji

I tagged you in this post. Do give a read.
Let me know if it helps.

Now coming to your question "How are we supposed to know about the question's difficulty while analyzing the mock and generating an error log?"

After every mock, I prepare a spreadsheet (see attached pic). I copy the question text from GMAC software and search on google. The first link will be of GMATClub(All hail bb&gang  ).

This is a laborious task but it will really help you in SEEING A BIG PICTURE and knowing what type of question you got right/wrong. And you can also add your comments. For all three mocks, I did this and it has really helped in figuring out a strategy  for Q and V. (Still trying to close my loopholes in V  :dazed )

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Romil.

Yeah bb and other's

Thanks a lot for your responses.

I'm following the same approach as you were mentioning. Creating an excel sheet with the S & W analysis.

Yeah, it's time-consuming but I agree there is no alternate solution. :D

I’m not sure I really helped as much as the others. So I don’t think I deserve the credit. Please give the kudos to those who are due :-)

As to GMAT prep analysis, in part it’s a personal preference. Do you want to balance pros and cons. But I think doing some kind of analysis is helpful. 👍

Hi HarshaBujji,

Unfortunately the 6 Official CATs/mocks do not provide the same type of analytical details that many of the 3rd-party CATs do. There is a little data that can help define larger issues with your performance in individual sections - and there's still plenty of valuable analysis that YOU can perform though.

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi EMPOWERgmatRichC, below is the info

Quote:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
I'm studying for past 1-2 months, I used to study for ~20hrs a week, But I came to the end of my preparation so I will be studying more than ~30hrs

Quote:
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
I completed the e-GMAT course,
Mocks :GMAT Club, Veritas, GMAC..

Quote:
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
I have nearly 30-40 days of time for my preparation.
In Quant, I always get above Q49, mostly Q50/51 (It's my strong area)
Verbal is my weak area  V25+ but barely reach above V30 :( (I didn't practice OGs yet, So I'm hoping it will improve :) )

Quote:
Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
Target Score : 720+
Current leves 640-680

Scores are sequentially improving from V15 to V 28 in past 4 GMAT Club tests and GMAC

Quote:
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
I'm mostly targetting Canadian B Schools and few US B Schools that offer Tech MBA. ()

I'm planning to apply by round 2, hope to apply by round 1

Thanks in advance :)
