My mock score has consistently been 640-660 even after 3 months of proper prep. RC used to be my strong area but it isn’t anymore which is screwing up my verbal score.
My exam is in 2 days. Any last minute tips to tackle RC?I lose interest which is the biggest problem.
Latest mock score
V - 29
(23/36 questions)
Q - 49 (23/31)
IR - 6

Hey Sakshisriv24

I think you already followed good strategies for solving RC, these strategies differ from person to person. You cannot learn them in 1-2 days. My suggestion is to be calm and go through the error log. Understand your mistakes. This will help in overcoming silly and common errors.

RC scores sometimes vary in Mocks because of the question standards and genres. Avoid any last-minute tips as you need enough practice to apply them. Half knowledge is more dangerous.

All the best for your test, Hope you will get RC from the genres that you are interested in.

Hey guys, thank you for your responses.

I reviewed my performance and here are the details
CR - 7/9
SC - 9/13
RC - 7/14!!!
I started getting questions wrong the minute I lost interest. in the first 16 questions I got 3 wrong and rest all the mistakes were after that. :/ I am not sure about the strategy to implement while taking the actual paper.

I teach Solving Approach for Verbal which covers how to ABSORB a passage (rather than simply read it). What follows isn't solving approach per se, but see if trying to "artificially" hype yourself up helps you stay interested.

"oh, YES! A passage about dolphins. That's so cool. I wonder what I'm going to learn!"

Hi Sakshisriv24,

I'm sorry to hear that your Official GMAT was cancelled. Having less than 2 days to 'fix' your issues with RC wasn't a practical goal - but now that there might be some delay (in terms of when you can take the actual GMAT), we can use that time to better define those issues and improve your Verbal skills. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
