Think Logically for this one (don't force use formulas) and the answer will strike you.

We have 3S, 3M, 2T, 2B.

A pair with different melodies is formed when one of the people belonging to one of the 4 unique styles is paired with one of the people belonging to the remaining 3 styles.

Therefore, 3S can be paired with 3Ms, 2Ts and 2Bs, we get 3*7(3+2+2) = 21.

Follow the same for 3M, don't include 3S here because that's already accounted for in the previous step. 3*4(2T+2B) = 12

Finally, 2*2 = 4 for 2T and 2B. Add them up to get 21+12+4 = 37.
