(A) it immoral to work for wages or to own property, leaving it to his wife and daughters to support

Correct option A
because the parallelism is "To work or to own" another correct part is preposition - to support

Other options lack one of these.

(A) it immoral to work for wages or to own property, leaving it to his wife and daughters to support
(B) that working for wages or owning property was immoral and left to his wife and daughters the supporting of
(C) that working for wages or to own property was immoral and left to his wife and daughters the supporting of
(D) it to be immoral to work for wages and owning property, and he left it to his wife and daughters to be the supports of
(E) there was immorality in working for wages or owning property, and he left it to his wife and daughters to support

Based on the options, E is wrong because "believed there was immorality" is not idiomatically correct.

C and D have parallelism issues - present participle and infinitives need to be used respectively.

A and B are both correct idiomatically - it is fine to use use the placeholder pronoun "it" in this case.
A is better than B as "to support" is more concise than using the complex gerund "the supporting of".

(A) it immoral to work for wages or to own property, leaving it to his wife and daughters to support Correct as it clearly says BA believed it immoral and as a result he left it on his wife and daughters to support family. nice cause and effect.
(B) that working for wages or owning property was immoral and left to his wife and daughters the supporting of Incorrect as BA left to his wife and daughters the supporting of does not make much sense.
(C) that working for wages or to own property was immoral and left to his wife and daughters the supporting of Incorrect as working for wages and to own property are not parallel constructions.
(D) it to be immoral to work for wages and owning property, and he left it to his wife and daughters to be the supports of Incorrect as to work for wages and owning property are not parallel.
(E) there was immorality in working for wages or owning property, and he left it to his wife and daughters to support Incorrect as the first clause i.e. BA believed there was immorality in working for wages or owning property is unnecessarily wordy.

Small question, in "leaving it to his wife....", what is "it" referring to here? Does it have a clear antecedent?

Isn't supporting parallel construction?
