B. The steward, though recruited after 2010, resigned and rejoined after 2012.  Why we need to assume that the steward resigned. Even if they continued after 2010, they would have attended both programme. Incorrect

C. The steward though recruited before 2010 for the first time, resigned and rejoined after 2012.  Same as B . Incorrect

D. The steward was recruited after 2010.  This can be inferred as the steward joined after 2010, so the steward attended both the programmes. Correct

E. The steward was recruited after 2012.  The steward wouldn't have attended Etiquette programme. Incorrect

Was leaning towards B at first, but looking at all choiches. E makes the most sense.

If you join after 2010 - you have to take the EP, if you join after 2012, you have to take the HP. The passage never mention that the HP would  replace  the etiquette program. Thus, it is likely that both exist.

If both exist, someone joining after 2012 would have to do both.

To be obliged to do the EP, you have to join after 2010. 
To be obliged to do the HP, you have to join after 2012.
Someone receuited after 2012 fulfills both.

If the stweard would have resigned in 2010, after being employed, we cannot know for sure if the person fulfilled the EP.

I am not sure if this makes sense, but it was my reasoning!:)

What is the source? We can't infer any of the answer choices, because for all we know, the airline offered optional etiquette and hospitality programs in the 1980s, and this airline steward took them both back then and has been with the airline for 50 years.

The logic of the question is backwards. If we know answer E is true, we can infer the steward attended both the etiquette and hospitality programs. If we know a steward attended both programs, we can't infer anything about when the steward joined the airline, at least with the information provided.

passage has loopholes as it does not provide any information about people joining before 2010. It is very much true that people people joining before 2010 and 2012 can very well join any of the programs. Passage does not rule out this inference.
