Hi,
I am fortunate enough to receive two offers, one from NYU Stern with a full faculty named scholarship, and Yale at the 11th hour increased my scholarship offer to $40K/Annum. I am an international student and have worked at a large financial institution in a comp sci project management role. I am looking to break into either IB or consulting and for Yale would have to take out a loan.
Knowing the strengths of both schools, the decision comes down to the prestige and Yale name in addition to the class structure and teaching style, which is similar to my undergrad and a style I enjoy (also Yale alumni club and golf course). While NYU comes down to living in New York same opportunities as Yale for recruiting and financial incentive to go. I have visited both schools and enjoyed both atmospheres. I can see the train to new haven as being tiring but its part of a normal commute that I do today to go to work so that's fine. My dream is always to go to an Ivy league school but am I putting to much weight on prestige and this which may be more undergrad relevant vs grad school. So should I just take NYU since they are giving me the full ticket and must have really liked me and my application or spend the $~46K in yale tuition. After running the numbers NYU would be $15k cheaper after living costs. I plan to recruit for either a job in US or Canada
Any last min advice or thoughts on where to go is appreciated.

Congratulations on your admits!!!
That’s rare to get a last minute scholarship. Lucky. There are a lot of projections we can make and try to guessing time the market and predict how your recruiting will go and how many offers you’ll get but a lot of it is driven by chance. A lot of his dreams by luck and opportunity. I don’t think there’s a wrong choice here and while Stern probably has more investment banking riding on it, you can be successful of at either program. Maybe MBASomeTime has some input 🙏😇
