the update does say that they will send out vast majority of the interview invites in oct, so i am assuming it will be in batch style as well? I feel like they are still ironing out interview slot details. On the website it says that interview will be conducted by alums, 2nd year students or ad com. I was looking at columbia business school academic calendar and it says that 16-20th oct is the final exam period. So very likely we will see interview invites after they final exam period?
here is the academic calendar i reffered to
Assuming 40% of CBS's c.6k applicants apply in R1, that is c.2.5k applicants.
Assume 50% interview rate (slightly higher in R1), that is c. 1.25k applicants.
'Vast majority' implies a minimum of 50% (high certainty) and a maximum of maybe 75% (low certainty), but let's stick with that.
Thus, 675-875 candidates will be interviewed for R1.
We have 11 more working days in October.
It is thus quite likely that c.60-85 will be invited for interviews every day, from now through to end of month.
With each passing day without any significant number of candidates (say, 5-10) posting self-reported interview invite updates on gmatclub/reddit/fishbowl/clearadmit, the probability of a bulk release of IV invitations goes up.
