Please help with the OA / a better explanation here

A,B,C are clearly out of the picture here

For D
Not clear how the avg length of a listening session will lead to more retention. Maybe the avg of a session is higher but the total unique sessions drop indicating a drop in retention

For E
Provides another reason why retention may rise
Can avoid certain artist which you would have rather skipped ! This should lead to longer listening sessions imo.
No need to skip music as your recommendations get better

E Can't be the answer, if you read the passage carefully.
"The company's executives argue that this policy will encourage users to discover and listen to new music, rather than sticking to their familiar favorites. "
Hence if E is implemented. The user will not be exposed to new kind of musics, one can avoid 99% (extreme case) of the music and just listen to 1 % songs after filtering.

D gives the reason why it is benficial to restirct the skip.

I hope it helps.

Can someone tell me why A is wrong and D is correct? Higher visibility could lead to higher subscriptions but how do longer listening sessions lead to retaining a subscription?

Not really. (D) doesn't make sense as a reason for increased retention. (E) might be a better answer, but it isn't great either.

I concur.

No reason to think that longer listening sessions on average won't frustrate listeners who are sticking through music they would have skipped, leading them to unsubscribe after having enough of that. People want to have the choice to skip sometimes regardless of how long they listen to music.

Exactly why I chose E, I thought it ruled out the possibility of skipping artists they don't support or straight up dislike for other reasons than their music. Having unskippable tracks can achieve this and with this plan, but its still not a great answer regardless.
