@Bunuel- what does powers of 10 mean in vertical axis? Like 1000 is 10^3 and 10,000 is 10^4 ?

Please correct if I am interpreting it wrongly

Can we solve this using slope of the curve?

Curve F had the largest slope or looked to the steepest.
Cuve D had a slight dip in between and thus had lowest slope.

Can we use these 2 inferences to get the answer? Is it correct? Will it work always?

 
­Hey hello,

looking for just the slope of the curve might lead to solving this question incorrectly, since slope might be able to give you net increase/decrease but since percentage increase is asked it involves a denominator which is an absolute value different for different companies. Since this denominator can change the value of percentages, i wouldnt really recommend going at this question with only the slopes.

The information is provided to make candidate understand that the scale is logarthmic scale not linear scale

For example, 1x10^2 --- 2x10^2 --- 3x10^2 --- 4x10^2 --- 5x10^2 --- 6x10^2 --- 7x10^2 --- 8x10^2 --- 9x10^2 --- 1x10^3 -----2x10^3-----3x10^3 & so on....

Can we say we can not see the slope here since the Y axis is not starting from 0 here ?

The fact that 0 is not on the Y-axis doesn’t matter. Notice, though, that the graph uses a logarithmic scale (in powers of 10), not a linear one, and you don’t need to know how slope works on a log scale; in this case, as shown above, the question has a simple solution without it.
