I scored 655 on my GMAT exam (93rd percentile). However, I want to improve my score by at least 30 points and reach 685, which is the 97th percentile.
During my exam, I made some mistakes which I believe led to my low (compared to my target) score. In the Quantitative section, I had one incorrect answer and one unanswered question (last Question of the section). My percentile in Quantitative section was 85th. During my mock exams, I noticed that if I made two incorrect answers, my percentile would still be around 92nd. I think my anxiety about the potential penalty for an unanswered question caused me to click on 'start break' and 'end break' within 2 seconds, foregoing my break and within no time, verbal section appeared on my screen.
As a result, I entered the second section (verbal) with a lot of anxiety, and I ended up getting my first question wrong. I made a total of 8 incorrect answers, which resulted in a 70th percentile. I had to guess the answers to the last two questions because of timing issues. During my OG mocks, I used to score up to the 98th percentile on verbal, but I always get verbal questions wrong if I have even a tiny bit of anxiety or lack of focus.
My original plan was to take a break after the verbal section, but due to the initial mess-up, I went on to do the Data Insights section without a break, however, managed to score a 94th percentile.
Since I have been in study mode, I wish to resume my prep immediately and get done with my next attempt within this month. I am looking for some advice on how to motivate myself and plan my study for the next attempt.
Thank you in advance!
