Dear All,
A number of you who have been shortlisted for interviews over the next couple of weekends have reached out to me to seek inputs regarding the Written Essay topic as part of the Interview.
Below are some of the Written Essay topics we collated from the applicants whom we helped with prepping for ISB Interviews conducted yesterday:
1. Someone is being late and taking time off how would you handle this situation.
2. The manager is giving you high value gifts, some of your coworkers have accepted the gift already what would you do?
3. A teammate writes inefficient code that may delay delivery. How would you handle the situation while maintaining team morale?
4. A supplier consistently delays shipments, causing bottlenecks. How would you address this while maintaining a good relationship?
5. A client offers a big deal in exchange for unethical concessions. How would you handle this?
6. Your marketing campaign is criticized on social media for insensitivity. How would you manage the backlash?
As you can observe, the common theme of the topics is that they are all Situational in nature. The objective behind seeking a response to above questions is to evaluate how you react in a practical setting specially if the situation is outside your comfort zone / contrary of the norm.

Do note that written essay was last part of the evaluation process in 2013-14 when I had interviewed. It has been reintroduced after a number of years now mostly to gauge whether the essays you submitted were drafted by you / with assistance (LLMs, Language Writers etc.)
