Supervisor is not agreeing to provide work mail id for LOR.

Did anyone here face similar issue? If yes, what did you do?
Hey Spectre26 , I hope you are doing well.

So, ideally they should give a professional email address for the LOR. Otherwise there is no credibility (anyone could be writing the LOR pretending to be the supervisor).

If they are unable/unwilling to provide their professional email ID, two things can be done. You can try to find another recommender or explain the situation in the optional essay.

Good luck!

Graduation - SRCC '18

Work-ex: M&A with Big 4 firm for ~3.5 years focused on Japanese & US Corridors with a fast-track promotion; Established M&A practice for Japanese clients (as part of Family business) (~1.5 years); Moved to an Angel Investment Platform as an Analyst (~1 years), First Analyst hire for the Angel Investment Platform's VC Fund (~ 1 years).

Extensive experience around M&A, Fundraising, Due Diligence, Investing

Pre-MBA Industry: M&A (IB) + VC
Post-MBA Industry: PE / VC

My Achilles heel has been the GMAT, currently have 595 (~650) as part of recent attempt, reattempting as differential of 50-60 points from official mocks.

Is it worth trying for ISB R2 this year with this score? If not, what are score range i should target for ISB / US / European schools

Thanks

Without the GMAT, as you belong to over represented pool, you’ll still have to score much higher on the GMAT. Your experience is surely good, just that even after that you’ll probably only get 10 points leeway

Even for ISB, strongly suggest a retake

But you can try, ISB will let you know if they want you or not, then you still have the next year where you can apply with a new GMAT.

The only people who can tell you that would be the adcom. Unless ISB explicitly Mailed you guys separately of which I usually don’t keep track.

For anything else, you can look at- isb-ylp-2022-applicants-379972-20.html?srsltid=AfmBOorKMONdc2CfF8MEy_qL4HkWxW1OoBbf_KcJ-4fblI9h718-3Eiy

I also don’t keep a track of when the decisions will be rolled, less useful

Thanks for your prompt reply

Is the leeway you're referring to based on average GMAT scores advertised?

Dear kartikfanin,

Upon reviewing your profile, it is evident that you possess valuable work experience that is both diversified and unique, which will serve you well in the competitive applicant pool for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) at ISB.

From your details, it seems you have achieved significantly higher scores in your mock tests compared to your actual GMAT score. While GMAT scores are just one component of your application, and the overall profile is paramount, we encourage you to strive for an improved score. Even matching your mock test performance would enhance your application. We recommend presenting your strongest application possible.

Our team at Team FLY (www.teamfly.org) consists of dedicated ISB alumni who specialize in assisting candidates with profile positioning, essay writing, and interview preparation. We would be eager to learn more about your profile and provide any support you may need.

To connect with us, please feel free to schedule a complimentary 15-minute session at: https://calendly.com/reachusfly/15min/Warm regards,
Team FLY

Yeah kinda because a lot of people may join from consulting, engineering, IB but not as many with VC experience post bach (it’s somehow complementing your post-MBA work ex with transferrable skills & feasibility)

Feel free to DM if you have any questions more personal to you

FYI : I’m applying for the YLP, however I couldn’t find a page for it here on GMATclub ;(

UG College : IIM Indore (Bachelors), CGPA: 8.4
GMAT FE Score: 745
Internships: EY,Oppo and Suzlon Energy|
Extra-Curriculars: Won a national futsal tournament and a few institute related sports achievements + won 2 case comps.

I also wanted to know if any of you could explain how YLP/ normal PGP are conducted and what I should prepare for in case I get the call.

Thanks!
