Pressing the operations buttons more than once would cause the operation to be performed on the current display value. For example 3++**-= would return 0 (since the last display value of 20736 would be subtracted by itself). Pressing equals more than once repeats the last operation. For example 3+2*5=== would return 625 (25 * 5 * 5).

Here is a screenshot of the official calculator from GMAT Prep by the way:

Friends,

There is an MDAS toggle button in the GMAT Calculator Simulator, which I believe does not exist in the actual GMAT calculator. The MDAS (Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction) toggle button determines whether calculations will follow the order of operations or be calculated continuously.

When MDAS is on, the order of operations will be followed. For example, 3 + 2 * 5 = 13, as the multiplication is calculated before the addition.

When MDAS is off, a subtotal will be calculated and displayed continuously as calculations are entered. For example, 3 + 2 * 5 = 25, as the operations are calculated in the order they are entered.

What method does the actual GMAT calculator use? If anyone has taken the official mock tests or the actual GMAT, could you enlighten us on what mode we should use to become familiar with the calculator that is going to appear on the test ?

Thanks!

In our case the calculator is not movable, it is fixed but on the real GMAT it can be moved around.

Can this be fixed? I have been taking DI mocks recently in Forum quiz and this is just terrible. Its covering questions sometimes and in other cases, covering tables and graphs.

The whole point of the mocks is to set a pace and this is ruining that purpose.
