Masego is shopping for a bicycle and has narrowed her choices to the seven shown in the table. She has two preferences regarding the minimum and maximum speeds of the bicycle, when pedaled at the rate of 90 revolutions per minute (rpm):
1. The minimum speed should be at least 13 kilometers per hour (kmh).
2. The maximum speed should be at most 45 kmh.

BicycleMinimum (kmh)Maximum(kmh)
A10.444.8
B11.847.7
C15.643.4
D12.848.1
E15.442.3
F11.047.1
G15.242.7

For each of the following statements, select Yes if it accurately reflects the information provided. Otherwise, select No.

“At least 3” means “3 or more,” so it’s perfectly fine that exactly three bikes meet Preference 1 and exactly four meet Preference 2. Those first two statements are true.

Masego’s two preferences are:
  1. Minimum speed ≥ 13 km/h
  2. Maximum speed ≤ 45 km/h
Below is the table of the seven bikes with checks for each preference:
BicycleMinimum (km/h)≥ 13?Maximum (km/h)≤ 45?
A10.4No44.8Yes
B11.8No47.7No
C15.6Yes43.4Yes
D12.8No48.1No
E15.4Yes42.3Yes
F11.0No47.1No
G15.2Yes42.7Yes

  1. At least 3 of the bicycles satisfy Preference 1?
    • Bikes C, E, and G have minimum speeds ≥ 13.
    • That’s exactly 3, so “Yes.”
  2. At least 3 of the bicycles satisfy Preference 2?
    • Bikes A, C, E, and G have maximum speeds ≤ 45.
    • That’s 4 bikes, so over 3 so “Yes.”
  3. Only 2 of the bicycles satisfy both Preferences 1 and 2?
    • Bikes satisfying both are C, E, and G (all three meet min ≥ 13 and max ≤ 45).
    • That’s 3 bikes, not 2 so “No.”

Tables questions always have sortable tables. I've fixed the issue. Thank you!
