A man sold only red and blue balloons on only small and large sizes. If he sold a total of 108 balloons, how many were small red balloons?

(1) He sold 35 large balloons
(2) He sold 25 small blue balloons

Let the question be represented as

SmallLarge Total
Red ?
Blue
108

Statement 1:

He sold 35 Large balloons.

SmallLarge Total
Red ?
Blue
73 35108

This statement is Insufficient

Statement 2:

He sold 25 Small blue Balloons.

SmallLarge Total
Red ?
Blue 25
108

This statement is also Insufficient

Combining both Statements 1 and 2, we get

SmallLarge Total
Red ?
Blue 25
73 35108

Total Small red Balloons = 73 - 25 = 48

Hence, Option C
