A man sold only red and blue balloons on only small and large sizes. If he sold a total of 108 balloons, how many were small red balloons?
(1) He sold 35 large balloons
(2) He sold 25 small blue balloons

Ans: Given that total balloons = 108.
Split into:
1. Large balloons = 35.
So, small balloons = 108 - 35 = 73.
Does not give idea about classification of colors in the size.
So, A,D, ruled out.
2. Small blue = 25
No info on the total small, or small red.
So B ruled out.
Combine 1 + 2
So, large balloons = 35
=> Small balloons = 73.
Small red + Small blue = 73.
Small red = 73 - 25 = 48
So, C is the answer.
Split into:

| Total | 108 |

We need to find Sr
Given Sr+Lr+Sb+Lb=108
Statement 1: given Lr+Lb= 35
from here we get Sr+Sb= 73
we dont know the value of Sb so it is not sufficient.
Statement 2: given Sb=25
from this statement we don't know about the total no of large ballons present. so it is not suffiient.
Both statements combined:
Sr+Sb=73
Sb=25
Sr= 48
We can derive the value of Sr. so C will be the option i.e, both statements combined are suffiecient.
