Gmat - 655 Q82, V84, DI82
Relevant Work exp - 1.5 yrs as a data analyst at a strategy consultancy startup and a FTSE 250 financial services company. Mainly use Excel, VBA and Power BI
Other qualifications - Microsoft MS-300 Power BI certified, Spanish speaker, basketball, recreational poker
Looking to apply to MSc Finance and MSc Financial Statistics at LSE and Imperial this year to get into IB. Is my GMAT quant score too low for these programs? I think I could score slightly higher, but at the cost of delaying my application, perhaps even to R2. TIA

Your profile looks strong! The GMAT is a bit below the average for LSE/Imperial Finance (~690–720), but your quant percentile is solid and your academics already show strong math ability.
If you feel you can improve, a retake could give you extra confidence, but if not, your profile already shows strong quant ability and you can highlight that in your essays. Either way, your reasoning makes sense.Wishing you the best!

Do you have certifications to back your claims ? Your strong data analyst experience, and Power BI certification make you a great fit for LSE and Imperial’s MSc programs.
Your GMAT Q82 is solid but slightly below the Q85+ often preferred for quant-heavy tracks like MSc Financial Statistics.
Still, your academic modules and work experience show strong quant skills, so it’s not a dealbreaker. Retaking the GMAT could help, but don’t push to R2 if it means a weaker app—R1 has a slight edge for funding. Apply when you’re ready, and you’ve got a strong shot!
