There is as such no topic wise weightage for quants. Question difficulty changes based on your answers. Mostly people try to cover algebra, number properties, Permutation & Combination, probability. There are other small topics as well but if your foundation is strong you will be able to tackle them

Hi, mihika09, in the link below you’ll find the Quant topics tested in GMAT Focus, as well as statistics on the frequency distribution of each topic appearing in official mock tests: gmat-syllabus-for-focus-edition-424188.html.

However, it’s not like you’ll get 3%*21 questions in the real exam. So there is certainly some randomness to it as to which topics you’ll get during the real exam. Sometimes you get topics you are good at, and sometimes you get topics you are less strong at.

So instead of trying to prioritize by topic (which some people do), another line of thinking is to prioritize easy/medium questions in terms of difficulty. For example, for topics that are naturally more difficult, such as combinatorics or probability, you can consider focusing on easy/medium questions, and "let go" of the higher-difficulty ones. After all, you get penalized much more by missing an easy/medium questions, while getting a hard question wrong would not affect your score as much.

Hi guys! One of my friends had given GMAT Focus a couple of months back (Jan’26). He told me that the questions that are being asked are relatively newer and even the point system now making it difficult for candidates to score. For example, he had made only 1 error in his Quant and his percentile dropped considerably. In DI, within DS, there are questions with 4-5 images. Anyone who has seen the new type of questions or are aware of it?

Hi, can someone confirm if this is true?

My last attempt was at the end of December 2025 and I did not observe this
