Sure. You are definitely right trying to invest your study time wisely.

Bunuel has made a nice post about common question patterns in Absolute Value. Worth checking out:

Hi All,

I was just thinking of a strategy to solve my mock, I wanted guidance in regards to which subsection should I pick first since it will have an impact on the way I solve the test. Initially I was starting with verbal, DI and quant but I dont think this is working for me. Verbal is the weakest where as quant is the strongest.
I take a break after the verbal section to get a breather for the remaining 2 sections.

Also I have not given a mock and will be giving a mock and will be giving one this coming week its my 2nd time reappearing for GMAT so was honing my skills and reworking on areas where I was lacking. Hope that’s okay

Personally.. verbal is my strongest nd DI the weakest.. so i start with verbal.. move on to quant.. and then take a break and clear my head for DI.. got to this strategy thru trial and error and worked for me in my mock.. i hoped to give my best in yhe section i was most confident in

I dont think it is adaptive across sections.. pls feel free to correct me if I'm wrong..

I jsut follow the strategy because I noticed that I make more errors in verbal when I am tired.. nd that my stamina doesnt affect my quant performance too badly.. soo yea

hi @hr1212 @bb, I have a doubt, yesterday i gave a gmatclub full mock, did pretty well in verbal and all of the sudden in quants I was thrown 17 hard questions, and kind of tanked my score very much, how much is this adaptive thing comparable with actual exam? Also, is it a one off thing or this is how the algorithm works?

Congratulations on one hand and sorry about the quant but checking the current algorithm compared to official test results, if you scored between 81 and 84, it’s highly accurate. Even if it had many hard questions. This is correlating it to the official test and not GMAT prep.

However, we have a new algorithm coming next week on Tuesday so you can also try your luck and see if you get a better score. The new algorithm is highly accurate.

PS. Make sure you submit answers to all the questions and you don’t leave any unanswered.

Does EG also offer 15 free mocks? While official mocks are limited was told EG mocks are good to give as you said (not for the score but stamina building).
You can purchase the 15 EG Mocks for INR 5000...

As I said before, I think one should treat them as a good source of practice and stamina building. Official Mocks are the best way to judge true current status score-wise...
