That sounds logical. GBR is around 04/10. May 1st gives about 20 days from GBR for people to make up their mind.

Nope but I hear that the $1K deposit is due May 1st (source: "the other website" )

There's also some difference between 1K USD for Ross and 5K EUROS that IESE asks...

Tough decision with a USD20K scholarship...

Last year a friend of mine (also Brazilian) got also 20k, and he also got into Wharton and MIT, and he's didn't have >700 GMAT (I think it was 670 or 680), so I believe is more the strategy that Ross is developing its name in some parts of the Globe. He decided to Wharton, but did so, because money is not a problem for him, he comes from a very wealthy family. In my case, 20k would be somehow a decisive factor.

Anyway, no one can't go wrong with Ross, it's a very good school, strong brand in US (and improving in other places).

If I had some more options, I'd visit the school, the places nearby to take a more solid decision.

But hey, tough decision, but a GREAT ONE!

I love Barcelona, it's my favorite city in Iberia - perhaps in Europe, and considered IESE when I was researching schools, eventually I decided to apply only to US schools. In my perception Ross is better school than IESE, unless you want to work in Spain afterwards. This deposit IESE asks is TOO MUCH, I didn't know about that.

well, if its really 20k per year, it would be a 40k scholarship. or do I get that wrong?

As I am not from such a wealthy background that's a serious reduction of my post-MBA debt... and I assume living costs are not that high in Ann Arbor either.

Yeah, the almost 5k IESE wants to secure the place are insane.

I shall be checking costs later this week. When we lived in AA in summer we paid 750 USD for apartment (5 min. from school). During academic year cost for same apartment was about 1k USD. When we bought food at Meijers we spent about 100 USD for a week. Natural food, grown without any additives costed us 50-60 USD and was eaten in 2-3 days. Chinese restaurants had rather nice pricing - for 5-6 USD you could buy dinner and breakfast :) Tacos, quesadilas were 7+ USD. There is also a store near AA with very cheap natural vegetables from Mexica. And, actually, we didn't pay much for any other things.
AA itself is not a big city and students usually rent an apartment pretty close to school (5-15 min.).

We didn't feel any great need for car except the time when we did some shopping and got about 15-20 kilos (35-40 pounds) per each person and a 200 meters run from bus to home :)
